Looking for a space for your child’s next birthday party or a group outing? We’ve got you covered! We offer rentals for both our swimming pool and our gymnasium, with discounts offered for our members.

Gymnasium

We set up one end of the gymnasium with equipment based on the demographic expected to attend (mats and toddler toys for younger children; sports equipment and giant games for older children). We also have a small rock climbing wall that you are able to use with your own supervision. The other end of the gymnasium is set up with tables and benches for an eating area. Please note we do not have a kitchen or fridge available for use.

Available: 90 minutes, with 30 minutes allowed for set up and 15 minutes for clean up

  • Sunday 3:00-4:30pm

Price: $115 (member) | $150 (non-member)

Pool

Enjoy one hour of swimming! The Aquatics Centre is not open to the public during this time, so you have the entire pool to yourselves. There is a lifeguard on duty, and all program areas and floats are available to you – main pool, tot pool and whirlpool. Please note that you are booking one hour of swimming only – there is no party room available afterwards.

Available: 60 minutes in the water

  • Saturday 1:45-2:45pm

Price: $130 (member) | $165 (non-member), covers up to 60 guests

  • $15 extra charge for up to 90 guests (extra lifeguard needed)

How to Book a Rental at the YMCA Exploits Valley

Availability can be checked by contacting Membership Services at (709) 489-9622, however please note that we can not hold spaces, and a booking is not considered finalized until you do so in person.

    Reservations for rentals must be done in person as we require you to sign a contract and take payment for deposit.

    A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for all bookings. While this deposit is non-refundable, your deposit can be transferred to another date if necessary.

    The remaining portion of the deposit is due on the day of the rental.

    We will only require photo ID from the individual booking the party, not each guest. The host will provide a list of all those attending, and will be responsible for everyone at their event. Guest lists must be submitted before the day of the event, and can be dropped off at the Front Desk or emailed to servicedesk@ev.ymca.ca

What if I only booked for 30 guests but realize I’m going to have more?2023-11-03T17:21:35-02:30

We require a minimum notice of ONE WEEK in order to guarantee a second lifeguard for your rental.

Can I bring food onto the pool deck?2023-11-03T17:21:04-02:30

No food or beverages are permitted on the pool deck. However if you have loot bags you wish to pass out as guests leave, they are permitted to be stored in the viewing area or at the Front Desk.

Is there a limit to how many people can come?2023-11-03T17:20:37-02:30

Pool rentals are limited based on the number of lifeguards you reserve/pay for – each lifeguard can only be responsible for a maximum of 30 people. The gymnasium does not have a limit.

Why do I need to provide a guest list?2023-11-03T17:20:10-02:30

In an effort to improve the safety of all patrons, we need to account for all adults and children in the building in accordance with the YMCA’s Child Protection Policy. The guest list being provided in advance makes sign in for your event run more quickly and smoothly.

Can I get my deposit back?2023-11-03T17:19:39-02:30

The 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you are unable to keep your booking, the deposit can be put towards re-booking a new date. The only instance where would refund a deposit would be situations outside the YMCA’s control (examples: facility closure due to inclement weather, pool fouling, etc.).

Can I book a rental over the phone or online?2023-11-03T17:18:54-02:30

Currently, we are only set up to book rentals in person. However we are aiming to make rentals available to book online in the new year, so that our bookings are more accessible to those living out of town.
